While Coir Matting is suitable for covered outdoor areas, it is not recommended for fully exposed outdoor areas where it may be constantly exposed to rain or direct sunlight. Our Coir Matting is mounted on a PVC backing which helps to keep the mat rigid and in place once installed. Instead of becoming oversaturated with water, our PVC-backed coir mats will hold the excess water within the mat, without attracting any mould or mildew.

As there are variations in the coir this does mean that the dye can take in varying amounts to the fibres.
