About this deal

The occipital cradle of Scott's Halo Fit System has three heights and circumference adjustment is via a rotary dial. A clever separator keeps the straps far apart so they don't clash with your ears, all helping to make the Cadence Plus one of the best fitting and most secure helmets we've tried recently. The price for a top-flight lid with MIPS [Multi-directional Impact Protection System] additional protective technology is good. It’s getting hot out there, and my first ride in the Giro Foray Mips was one of those early spring solo afternoons (as they all are until further notice…) that leaves salt deposits on your temples. The Coolmax padding of the Foray does a great job of absorbing the majority of your perspiration. That means they work with ponytails and/or particularly bony skulls, and it's a really neat, genuinely comfort-boosting feature for the price. It also keeps weight down to a reasonable 294g (for the medium). Family resemblance is a funny old thing. My grandfather’s big nose, for example, skipped a generation and made my own face its next home, sparing my mother a lifetime of ‘keep your big nose out of it’ jibes. The Giro Foray Mips helmet, on the other hand, could – at a glance – be mistaken for its much more expensive predecessor – the Synthe. Giro applies their latest technologies to deliver a bike helmet that is both superbly aerodynamic and comfortable. The fit and function are perfect whatever bike you ride too, from road to trail, fixie to fat-bike. The Foray Cycling Helmet is available in Giro’s Super Fit sizes so that you can get a helmet that looks, fits and feels like it was made for you.

Notably, the Velocis comes with a one-year crash replacement policy: if you crash it in the first year, you get a free replacement. Metropolis International Group Limited, 10th Floor, Southern House, Wellesley Grove, Croydon, CR0 1XG. The Z Alpha is less specific than some aero lids and all the better for it, with great ventilation and classy looks. You can opt to have MIPS or not, but a little extra outlay for enhanced head protection is a no-brainer in our book. Catlike Vacuum With its sweeping, almost conventional shape, and 22 sizeable vents, the Z Alpha looks very open for an aero helmet. The snap-on front cover is said to provide the biggest aero gains at over 40kph. It only hides the central four vents, but has a slot to channel some air through.

The 29 vents offer plenty of places not only for the air to come in, but also to store your sunglasses. A continuous pad across the forehead is suspended slightly away from the wavy EPS inside of the helmet, allowing for a little ventilation and some conformity to various head shapes. The removable, antimicrobial pads do their job well. In days of sweaty riding without washing in between, the helmet never smelled bad. Cycle to Work is a salary sacrifice scheme, where you can save up to 42% off a new Bike and Safety equipment. This means the cost is deducted from your salary as a non-cash benefit, so you save on tax and national insurance.

Performance Cycling Limited 2023. Tredz is a trading name of Performance Cycling Limited. All Rights Reserved The Trenta is also compatible with MET's clever clip-on light, which pumps out plenty of lumens where they matter yet doesn't interrupt the helmet's function or adjustments.In-Mold Construction fuses a tough polycarbonate outer shell with the helmet's impact-absorbing foam liner. The fusion process allows for better ventilation systems, making in-mould helmets lighter and cooler than traditional helmets. Head protection is obviously the priority when it comes to helmets, and it continues to be realised by using expanded polystyrene structures shrouded in polycarbonate shells. But new aspects are coming into play as our understanding of the dynamics of crashing deepens. Here's our selection of the best road cycling helmets currently available. The fit should suit most head shapes, with the Mindset rear cradle offering plenty of vertical adjustment and the dial allowing you plenty of adjustability around the circumference of your head. Specialized S-Works Prevail The industry benchmark in comfort, stability, adjustability and weight savings. In addition to enhancing the fit and comfort of helmets, Roc Loc® 5 allows you to easily custom tune the fit tension and the fore-aft tilt of the helmet in seconds using a single hand. And it’s lighter than comparable systems too, making it the ultimate in skull-hugging luxury.

I’ve worn a Giro Synthe Mips on and off for a few years now; it’s my go-to road helmet. Being au fait with its Roc Loc closure system and Mips interior – designed to rotate with the helmet in the unfortunate case of any ejector seat moment, rather than digging in and jarring the skull on impact – pulling the Giro Foray on to my head for the first time felt satisfyingly familiar. Adding MIPS increases the weight — the large now weighs 282g — but the increase is just 20g more than the standard ARX. And frankly, low weight is not the first thing we look for when it comes to safety.

What is MIPS?

There are 32 vents in total, ranging from large inline strip vents and boxy exhaust ports to small square vents that punctuate the diagonal arch architecture of the helmet and extensive internal channelling helps keeps fresh air flowing. Performance The Foray follows a similar aesthetic to many of Giro's range of helmets with quite a rounded shape and plenty of swoopy lines. A total of twenty one vents aim to drag air across the head keeping you cool on a ride, including large, rear facing ports to aid continuous airflow. Construction is fairly simple with a single density of polystyrene used throughout the Foray MIPS. It does however benefit from Giro's In-Mold construction technique that moulds and bonds the polystyrene with the harder outer shell in a single process. This creates a stronger overall unit and helps the Foray feel sleek and seamless. The Rivale's shape is more rounded than most aero helmets. The internal padding is minimal yet well placed, and the micro-adjust dial offers plenty of tensioning to keep it securely on your head. We especially loved the 4cm vertical adjustment in the retaining cradle, which enables you to situate it in just the right spot.

year-old Jo Jobson due to be sentenced on Wednesday for his part in armed robbery of Cavendish and his wife, Peta, at their home in Essex in November 2021 Super-Fit - A great helmet is so comfortable that once it’s on, it virtually disappears. Giro’s proprietary three-size Super Fit system is based on “human scale factors” data and over 20 years of crafting helmets for the best bike riders in the world. The result is pure Skull Hugging Luxury, a helmet that fits 98% of the world’s population, yet looks (and fits) like it was custom made just for you.

Specialized has taken its ultra-aerodynamic S-Works Evade lid as the template for the Airnet, although it still has touches of the old leather ‘hairnet' helmets (hence the name) worn by racers from the 1970s. Those vents gulp in air, creating a cooling flow over the top of the head, while the 11 rear vents (one fewer than the Synthe) vent out hot air generated by your efforts.
