About this deal

Detachable Braided USB Type-C Cable: Connect to your PC or Mac to charge the keyboard and take advantage of AXON hyper-polling. For the uninitiated, optical or opto-mechanical switches use a laser cutoff to determine when a key has been pressed, rather than a physical switch. Manufacturers often prevent you from reconfiguring these, especially when they’re buttons rather than keys, but Corsair gives you complete control, letting you remap all of them through its software, iCue, including up- and down-scrolling on the volume wheel. On the other hand, the Keychron is a compact board that's hot-swappable, meaning you can customize its switches and keycaps.

Since I was used to having my "Esc" and "Ctrl" keys on the farthest edge of the keyboard, I'd occasionally tap G1 or G6 instead. It also has full RGB backlighting with individually-lit keys, and it's available with linear Cherry MX Speed or linear Corsair OPX switches. Four dedicated G keys are fully programmable to perform custom actions, shortcuts, and macros to elevate your productivity. Utilise the power of iCUE and customize an endlessly versatile control wheel, synchronize your RGB lighting, and six dedicated macro keys that can be used for gaming or streaming commands via Elgato Stream Deck software. However, this discrepancy doesn't significantly impact the overall raw performance, which is excellent.

Fast Wireless and Wired Connection Options: Three ways to connect to up to five different devices - Via sub-1ms SLIPSTREAM WIRELESS on PC or Mac, low-latency Bluetooth on up to three host devices, or USB wired with AXON 8,000Hz hyper-polling, for hyper-fast wireless versatility. The keycaps are very stable and have shine-through legends, which is helpful if you like to work in a darker room. Additionally, it has Full Key (NKRO) and Anti-Ghosting, which means it will register simultaneous keypresses and multiple key combinations held down simultaneously. The Corsair K100 AIR and the Corsair K100 RGB are high-end gaming keyboards with similar gaming performance and feature sets.

It also supports a maximum polling rate of 2000Hz using a wireless connection or up to 8000Hz when connected with its cable. The K100 AIR shines with brilliant per-key RGB backlighting, for nearly limitless customization for up to 20 lighting layers simultaneously, powered by AXON. The Cherry MX Speed switches on our unit feel light and responsive to type on, and it's also available in the new Corsair OPX linear switches, which may provide a different typing experience from our unit's switches. The Corsair K100 RGB and the Keychron Q2 are both wired-only mechanical gaming keyboards, but the Corsair performs significantly better overall.

It is powered by CORSAIR AXON Hyper-Processing Technology, CORSAIR's most advanced gaming keyboard experience. This means that unless you sit high enough to have a natural typing posture, the bundled wrist rest is a must when using the K100.

The centre piece of your setup, the CORSAIR K100 RGB boasts a refined design bolstered by a durable aluminium frame, dynamic per-key RGB backlighting, and a 44-zone three-sided LightEdge. It has slightly better latency performance, and while it has a polling rate of 8000hz, it only has an effective update rate of 4000Hz. Compared to these two keyboards, the Corsair K100 AIR supports a higher maximum polling rate of 8000Hz using a wired connection (or 2000Hz when connected wirelessly) to ensure the lowest possible latency while gaming. If you're interested in a similar mechanical gaming keyboard with low-profile keycaps that allow more backlight to shine out from the switch housings, check out the ROCCAT Vulcan II Max/Mini. CORSAIR's most advanced gaming keyboard experience delivers up to 4x faster throughput with native 4,000Hz hyper-polling and 4,000Hz key scanning, while simultaneously driving up to 20-layer lighting effects.

It also has several features the Ducky lacks, including dedicated media keys, a wrist rest, a USB passthrough, an 8000Hz polling rate, and customization software. If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag.

My muscle memory has been trained over decades to reach for the Escape key in far left, and I occasionally hit G1 instead. The low profile design of this keyboard also makes it comfortable to use without needing a wrist rest, although the keycaps themselves feel less high-quality than other aspects of the board. The keyboard I’m using 8 hours each day I work – thus, over the next 5 years, the keyboard will get about 8250 hours of solid use. Update 07/22/2021: While the majority of the keys on the board are made of PBT, the macro keys and the extra keycaps in the box are actually ABS keycaps.
