About this deal

The language is accessible and funny with lots of jokes that will appeal to small children (and adults! You guys were so fab and Dawn was such a lovely presence in the schools - I will absolutely be in touch next time I'm in your neck of the woods. Yesterday a parent came over to tell me how impressed she was by the book fair and that you did a fabulous job of selling the books to the children first.

I was at my last school for 4 years and we had ********* book fairs every term – and every term, I was disappointed by the narrow range of books. To access your ebook(s) after purchasing, you can download the free Glose app or read instantly on your browser by logging into Glose. I have even talked the head into a little revamp of the library so that we can display them properly! The text by Peter Bently is very funny too; what’s more it is in rhyme, making this great book even greater for the younger ones. His debut picture book, ‘Mini Rabbit Not Lost’ – published by HarperCollins – was nominated for best picture book in the 2019 Waterstones Book Prize. John has recently joined forces with award winning author, Peter Bently, to work on a series of exciting new picture books.

Young children might take on role play for some of the situations included in Dogs in Disguise so that they develop interactive skills and imagination. Ebooks fulfilled through Glose cannot be printed, downloaded as PDF, or read in other digital readers (like Kindle or Nook). They bring a real smile to the face and I can imagine young children laughing with joy at some of the dogs’ antics, especially when Barney disguises himself as a tree! It is probably a surprise for everyone that dogs wear disguises, but in fact, as this book assures us, fashion-forward red setters are roaming our streets in their trendy outfits, shih-tzus are cannily competing in jujitsu matches under our very noses, and puppies are disguising themselves as gnus to get into the zoo. There’s a natural rhythm to the writing that makes the book easy to read aloud with a smashing rhyme scheme that increases vocabulary and means the book can also be used as a game as non-reading children guess the word to rhyme with the previous one. The rhythm makes this a great one to readaloud to young dog enthusiasts or those those who just love a bit of silliness! Their first title 'Dogs in Disguise' (published Sep 2021) is a hilarious, rhyming story about the secret lives of our four-legged friends.
